At the wharf of this mosque huge freight boats used to come and anchor. They used to come from far and wide, so they would stay here for a week. We used to sit on these boats at dusk and enjoy the beauty of Buriganga. There was a gymnasium next to Nalgola Shahi Mosque. Islam Uddin Bogur gymnasium. Everybody used to say "Bogur Pahlawan's arena". The miscreants looted everything. -Tareq Aziz
